About us,

Thunderhawk Living History School is an interactive Living History program for people of all physical abilities from ages 6 upwards. Using our researched and historically correct presentation we depict how life was  for people in the 1700's on the North Eastern Coast of the New World from the perspective of both the Native American Indians, the fur traders Europeans adopted into Native Society, the Highlanders, settlers and Rogers Rangers, who were the origin of what the Special Forces are today.

" Our personas, the we people depict in the 1700"s are drawn from our own heritages "

We present the opportunity to learn in lots of ways so that each person will find something that best suits them and they can walk away with a positive experience!

We are focused on teaching with historically correct personas, living areas, clothing and accoutrements.

Everyday objects, seasonal foraging and hunting plus many other objects that would be found or used as trade during that time are used and taught about during each lesson.  We feel this really helps give everyone a better connection to a living history experience.

We can teach indoors and also on location, Click here to contact us, its an experience your students or guests will not forget!

What you can expect when we come and teach Living history

Our Thunderhawk Guides possess the quality of being able to communicate in ways with both young and old alike so people feel relaxed in their company.

"Me and my family always feel comfortable and welcomed,  they teach us all new things every time we come to see them, that's pretty neat!"

                              Mike P.

Our Guides have an incredible wealth of knowledge ranging from native hunting and foraging, tool making, cooking, family systems, drums and rattles, weaponry, weaving, flint knapping and warfare.

Each time we visit your school or group we also communicate with you beforehand  to ensure we touch on points of interest that you have and if there are sensory or visual requests.

Guides will teach drumming and history through storytelling, learn how to make primitive fishing nets and track animal footprints. Outside set up is a most effective way to help children understand how camp life was but if it's not possible we can also work inside.

We at Thunderhawk see just how effective it is when students are immersed into Living History and has been proven time and time again to enable people to enjoy themselves and learn in a fun and positive way.
